“Fight the Flood”

Action Network

It seems like every day the news hits us with another assault on our climate and environment -- from attacks on the Paris Agreement to proposed mining in national parks. But with every step backwards we must come together to ensure that we continue to leap forward.
Never forget that every individual action matters, no matter how small.
Below is a collection of actions you can take right now to help the global environmental movement. We also urge you to invite your friends to join the “Fight the Flood” action center where they can sign up themselves and explore more ways to make a difference.
We thank you for being a climate warrior!
Action 1: Tell Congress not to sell "Our Wild" to the highest bidder

In 2015, the U.S. Senate voted to pave the way for selling tracts of our federal forests, wilderness areas and wildlife refuges to States that are eager to open them up for oil and gas drilling, mining and logging. This move only furthers a disturbing trend in the war on our public lands. Contact your state representatives and tell them to protect #OurWild. Public lands will not be taken from the American people.
Action 2: Join the movement to protect the Leuser Ecosystem
The Leuser Ecosystem is a bio-diverse hotspot consisting of over 6.5 million acres of the most biodiverse rainforest on Earth. Yet this amazing place remains largely unknown to the world and is under threat. Help make this wonderland famous by joining #LoveTheLeuser, a global effort to protect this critical rainforest by making businesses and the Indonesian government follow through on their promises.
Action 3: Be part of the generation that ends oil!
In a historic court case Greenpeace, together with Nature & Youth, is suing the Norwegian government for allowing Statoil and other oil companies to aggressively expand oil drilling in the fragile Arctic. This case could potentially keep millions of barrels of oil in the ground and prevent catastrophic oil spills in the region. Add your name and it will be submitted as evidence of a growing global movement against Arctic oil.
